Default '99 Cougar V6 Help!

Hey, just bought a '99 Cougar V6 (auto) with 92k miles at the auto auction on 50th and MLK for just under $2500.

So far, the only warning lights I have are the "service" (wrench), brake pad wear, and "bulb out"...but that's the way I bought the car.

Is there anything I should look out for with this car? I'm coming from the world of imports, so I have no knowledge whatsoever about these...

Sounds solid. I always wonder about proper replacement of timing belt on cars that have them. Check that. Assume nothing without proper records. Inspect all normal wear items. Car looks nice!

100k is timing belt time!Make sure the tensioner is in good working order.Auction cars are usually other people's problems that have been wholesale'd.Check coolent levels, last thing you want is to overheat.Other then that the 2.5 is nothing to be afraid of.that is all.
