Remember when I said I shouldn't complain about the cost of taking the kitty to the Vet? Well, I had to take my Ridgeback in for a checkup, refills on some drugs, and get started on a new one. No kind of tests run or anything...$385. He's 115lbs, so meds are more expensive. Stinker.

He's on thyroid meds, pain meds, Missing Link (a really good joint support), and now an SSRI because he's a crabby old dude that wants to bite visitors. He gets staph infections and ear infections, too. Last year, he had some sort of systemic yeast infection. He's 6.5 years old now, and getting "old."

My Rottweiler has never needed any medicine his whole life (he's almost 3). He'll probably outlive me.

 

we had a small rottie (85lbs) that lived until she was 13, had to put her down due to back problems (discs were compressing on nerves in her spine causing her to lose the ability to use her hind legs) or she probably would've lived a lot longer.. tried a ton of things to no avail/ Wife had her since she was a pup, i met her about when she was 3.. loved that dog, great with kids, excellent demeanor, and yet protective as well..

we'll probably get another one in the near future

 

Our Rottweiler is awesome. My only complaint is he's restless, no matter what.

 

my husky-golden retriever in my sig never leave the vet for under 300.00 ???? thats why i made him get a yob!!!!!!!!! lol

 

omg my Ridgeback is too lazy to get a job. It's a good thing we don't rely on him!!!!! Work is beneath him, ya know.

 

btw, that dog is adorable!

 

shit Dozer went to the Vet on saturday and for a full physical with blood work and meds and shit it was over $500 .. then again hes well over 100 lbs and 16 years old.

 

hes the best dog ive had in my life...and i have had some good dogs...you know what they say............dogs are just like their masters....thats just what they say!!!!!!!!!lol

 

Nah I got one lazy bum,dumb as a box of rocks, and one that never stops moving, bull in a china shop, and can figure out ANYTHING.

But they're both stubborn as hell, so I'll go along with that. They also whine until they get what they want.
