What Computer?>?>?
I got a 89 mustang GT I'm putting a Fuel Injected 351 that is gonna be a suprise motor to all. Anyway i need to know what computer to get to run the 351. Also would it be easier just to do a standalone system.
With a stock computer your pretty much only limited up to 50# injectors. High Impedance only, People will say you cant run 50's on a stock computer, I've been there done it with no issues, just your MAF has to match.
Now it is easier, to always go with a standalone, you have so much more control over 95 percent of the sensors in the entire system. Small learning curve, but with the information superhighway, its a matter of doing a little research. There are alot of great standalones out there on the market, I prefer AEM, but alot of people go with units such as BigStuff and the ever so popular Accel DFIunits

No offense but it sounds like it will be a surprise motor to you as well if you don't know what computer to put in it. If you are going with a basic street/strip 351 buildup I would go with just a stock computer A9L/A9P like said above. A9L is a little better to get your hands on than an A9P for resell purposes and a better fuel map. Damn, I haven't posted in a while.

Actually the A9P is the unit that has the better fuel/timing curve. This is only at 2300-2800 rpm that it falls exactly where the A9L is. This is only because of the A/C system, running at WOT on an automatic vehicle. Thats why the A9P has the slightly different fuel/timing curve.

Ahhh oops. Been out of the game too long. My mustang jargon has gone downhill. Duhh, that's what I have in my 94 is an A9P, runs great.

An A9L or A9P with a Tweecer would be a good setup. There will be some learning involved in tuning unless you are already up on the workings of EFI and ECU tuning...but it's worth knowing what the hell is going on inside there.
