2000 GT PATS System problem...
My sisters boyfriend just picked up a 2000 GT the other day. He has an intermitent problem with the PATS system not letting the car start, some times it works, sometimes it doesnt....
We are thinking its the key (only has 1), but before he takes it the dealer to have new keys made, are there any shops that can disable the PATS on the stock PCM?
Any help is appreciated

as far as i know, neither the IDS or WDS will let you disable the PATS system. if its intermittent, i could be the transponder around the ign. cyl. take the clamshell off the steering column and make sure the connector on the black ring is plugged in tight.

Yeah, no cheap way to fix it.
Plus by disabling it. You just made it that much easier to steal the car.
