Removingnut on top of strut?

Default Removingnut on top of strut?

What do you guys use to stop the strut from spinning when you try to remove the top nut? Cant get the damn thing off!

buzz it off with an air gun.......should come off.

Yeah i managed to get one off without using a impact, it was a real pain though. Ended up having to get the impact for the second one though.

Spray it with some type of rust penetrant that will help also.

its nut rust that holds the nut, its a special lock nut. Air gun usually get its, but if you dont care about the strut, vice grips on the rod

You can use an Allen wrench hold the post while turning the nut.

I understand that. But even if you are using an impact gun or if you lock some vise grips onto the rod those nuts still tend to be kinda stubborn. It doesn't hurt anything to hit it with some wd40.
