I am in the process of doing a efi to carb swap setup in my 91gt . I have a motorsport converted carb dist. Do I need a duraspark ingnition box if I have a msd 6al? and does anyone know the wiring set up ? thanks Dj

you can use a stock efi distributor but your timing will be locked. in my opinion it is best to use locked timing at 36 degrees, vacuum advance and mechanical advance sucks.

?? the efi dist. is a tfi set up how would that work?all the efi stuff is out of the car.. no ecu wiring exc.

duraspark box is easy to hook up only a couple wires but you need one that matches the distributor. but they suck too with a big cam not enough or too much advance. I dont know about the motorsport swap dist.

lock out dizzy.. do a search on on dura spark distributor lock out... very easy..

you dizzy has 3 wires coming out of it... go to msd website and search for 6al instructions,, it shows how to wire msd without factory crap(duraspark) or make me an offer and i will do it all for you.. wes

my dist has black with orange ..and two soild blacks that come out of it. found out that blk/orng = purple and one blk is taped off the other is the green... so that is like you said simple..lol now do I need the duraspark ign. box to make it work? msd's site is tellin me this ... on coil side of msd 6al
blk to - side of coil
orange to + side of coil
white ..taped off not used
red to????? it shows a horse shoe shaped connector with TACH and C+ on it and shows the red wire going to the C+...What is the C+?????

MSD also sells a connector for such a swap, plug and play very easy.
