How to wire 3g alternater

Default How to wire 3g alternater

I have an 86 vert was a V-6 now 302. can anyone tell me how to wire a 3g alt? The car has a external regulater on it now and want to get rid of that rats nest of wires.
Rep for a good explanation or wiring diagram. Thanks

You should have 2 connectors...install the connector that fits the 3G...then you cut the second connector off all together.. believe there is a total of 3 wires you will have after cutting the connector off.. Take the 2 larger wires and twist them together. Crimp on a connector and bolt it to the studed fitting on the 3G(post and nut). Take the small wire and crimp on a small connector for the single post terminal on the alt. Then your done....its that fucking easy!! This is how it is with 87-93........I hope its the same for you.

NA- I have the old school shit that only has posts on the back of ALT, no plugs at all
