Default heyheyhey

who can weld and help me overall with some of my ideas?

i was thinking about going with a chevy 350 in my cressida but im leaning more towards a carbed 302. pardon me for being not soo up to date but...

are the factory carbed 302's pushrod? and are the 302's from the 94/95 gt ohc? i love the sound of the sohc 4.6 but i dont think the engine will give me the power im looking for.

so basically im looking for a OHC 302 that i can carb easily.

as far as welding goes ill need custom haggard ass engine and tranny mounts. ill also need a ford 4/5 speed transmissions drive shaft lengthened or shortened. (i havent mesured yet). who can do this? the down time for my car needs to be very minimal.

All 5.0/302s are pushrod, 4.6s/281s are ohc. Every factory 4.6 is EFI. TO convert it to carb will require a bit plus a some change to buy the kit plus its better suited for a full race motor IMO.

any 302 can be made to run carb easily and cheapyl. 85 was the last year of carbed motors in mustangs, I forget when other models went to efi.

pre 85 mustang 5.0's made like 180hp back then... So if you find a stong stock motor at best it would be 180hp?

I think 85 they made 205 acutally. All you gotta do is swap on a better intake and carb that would really wake the motor up.

for 86-95 302 you just have to buy an intake manifold and a carb ....
