headlights for crown vic
Do you think these would look stupid on my car? I've already replaced the oem headlights with newer identical one's that weren't all foggy... and now i want to replace the side one's but i ran across this set and it might look good and it'll be something a little different...

dark headlights dont look good on anything but the Marauder colors, dark red, dark blue, silver and black. Besides those have smoked lenses and/or reflectors, the Crown vics already have mediocre headlights, the last thing you want to do is to decrease light output.
These are much better headlights, but much more expensive

yeah the marauders look the best with them.. and i've seen those hid's they look good and perform good 2 im sure but damn 1k i just want a little better look then the stock headlights... maybe i could jsut get the smoked headlights and get the this kit for the lights to make them bright as hell, i forgot the name of it , the yrun around 100 i think, hid xenon kit or something
You best bet is to get a set of Sylvania Xtra Visions (they have as much light output at the silverstars and at a longer expected life, and they are half the price) also if you upgrade the headlight wiring to 12 ga. with heavy duty relays, it will reduce the amount of voltage loss. It is not uncommon for our headlights to see under 12v at the socket, if you can increase that voltage to just 13V you have added nearly 10% more power.

putting more power to the bulbs is a bad idea, the housings are not designed for that amount of heat HIDs put off, which can result in fire. On top of that the Crown Vic headlights have a bad light pattern, no amount of power will fix the light pattern. Smoked headlights will decrease your light output even more, the marauder headlights are not just smoked, they actually have a different design which allows for dark surrounds with no loss in light out put.\
