Question lowering~

Hey guys i wasnt sure to ask here or in the truck section but
My grandpa has a 2001 F-150 single cab and we just picked up a set of lightning wheels for it and the look great.
But we need to lower it. What is the best way?
I didnt know if there were and easy quick ways to get her down on the rubber.

I would not take any short cuts, like cutting the springs. It will make the truck ride like poo. (But that is just IMO.. )

Try the Lightning boards to look for a better selection of used lowering springs or you can buy new from some place like Summit racing.

Swap in the lightning suspension?

Eibach makes lowering springs for it.

Airbags.

I always hear that trucks ride like crap when you lower them. Is that always the case, or does it depend on the parts used?

Definitely don't if you use the correct parts. I had a 2"/4" drop on my truck before I got rid of it. New springs and shocks together it rode better than before.

Like most suggest use stock lightning parts to lower it... but it all depends on how low you want to go... even at that... when ordering lowering parts if you list your vehicle as a Lightning the ride will be better than that of an F-150...

Anybody have an estimated cost to lower a truck just a couple inches?

...with ride quality in mind..not necessarily the cheapest route...

thanks!
