how much abuse would stock or aftermarket 28 spline axle's be able to handle on 26" slicks?

My last car came from Plano. This is going to sound weird, but do you know a one legged guy that's into Mustangs and Lightnings? His name is Henry. ?

 

axles are out of a 87 mustang, launching at 2k-2.5k rpms, 3.73's and around 280whp? im guessing they will last but just wanted a second opinion.

but to answer your other question, ive never met a guy with one leg that was into mustangs

 

I think you'll be fine.

True story, I sold an ATV online, and when the guy came to pick it up, he had only one leg. Then I bought that Mustang online, the guy drove it to me from Plano, and he also only had one leg. lol

 

moral of this story...don't move to Plano if you like both of your legs.

2k isn't a "launch" lol! you shouls be fine with stock axles at that power level in a foxbody.

You'll be fine. I haven't been able to break a stock axle yet. Last two cars were well over 400 hp to the wheels launching at about 3500. They were automatics though which hit a little softer than a manual. OTOH, I've seen a guy break two stockers in a row on 2 successive launches. Who knows? Maybe my JuJu is strong.

 

yeah im starting to wish i never moved from st. pete. theres some weird people around here

i plan on a higher stall converter later on. but this is a daily driver also right now so im not in to much of a hurry for a higher stall

 

i ran 28 spline mosers behind my old 460 that made 520+ ft/lbs and they were fine. some people never brake a stock axle, some poeple brake them all the time, i'd say it's a crap shoot.

 

my old car was in the 11s and weighed 3800 + 26x10 slicks and a 5k luanch with stock axles and a 4.30...
