valve lash setup

Default valve lash setup

guys ,
im trying to help a friend with install of his 303 cam in an older 302 he is using the retrofit roller lifters (comp cams i think) in setting the valve lash id doesn't seam right now i dont know fords well so any info would be a great help .

just to be sure is he using bolt down style rockers or stud mount?

lash is on a solid lifter cam. Most people set the lifter pre-load at between 1/2 and 1 full turn on the nut OR set up enough shims under the pedestal to achieve the same with the bolt.
