A few questions about 94-95 5.0 convertibles
Well, it's not going to be a daily, more of a weekend fun car, but it's supposed to be fun first and fast second so pushing the limits and breaking stuff is out of the question. I was looking up h/c/i numbers on stangnet last night and to be honest they were really unimpressive, like less than 300 whp unimpressive. To be fair this was with a basic Twisted Wedge package, not sure how that ranks on cost/hp. It seemed like the blower was an easy bolt on and capable of putting out more power.
I guess I'm spoiled by my crappy import which you can pretty much just throw as much boost as you want at in stock form and keep making more power. I didn't realize stock heads/cam were such a big restriction. I'll go check out the corral and see what kind of numbers people are putting down with stock heads/cam and blower. If he could get even 330 whp out of it he would probably be happy with it; he wants a drop-top cruiser, he just wants it to have some decent get-up-and-go. I don't think he wants to spend the money for a blower AND heads/cam, and I don't think he'd be happy with the 280 whp I was seeing some cars put out with the h/c/i stuff. He likes the looks and sound of a supercharged Mustang way better, but he was also considering an LT1 vert and that would do 400 to the wheels easy on a good h/c package for the same price as the 5.0 h/c/i I was looking at.
Thanks for all the advice so far.

yeah.. 330rwhp with stock heads/cam and a blower is do-able..
for this application I see the blower being the best choice..
Although a h/c/i 302/306 can be a very fast ride.. its all about the setup.
AFR185's, Custom Grind cam, Eddy performer RPM 2 and a 6500 shift point on a 306 is a wetdream nd well over 300rwhp

This is the wrong place to post it, but I personally think F-Bodys are the best bang for the buck, with 96-98 Cobra's in a close second. Both available in vert models..
