My friend was at a junk yard and found a Tremec trans. It has a 10 spline input shaft and looks like it could have a cable clutch but doesnt look like a T5. He sent me pics from his phone and I couldnt figure out what it is. I know Tremec makes Borg Warner transmissions, but would a newer T5 or T45 say Tremec on it? I think I'm gonna go there tomorrow and check it out.

the new t-5's tremec makes have tremec on the outside of the trans...they still are the same as the old t-5's. not sure about the t-45's.gl

 

get a pic of the case and it shouldn't be too hard to tell.

Yup they will say tremec on it. There should be an id tag affixed to say what it is.

 

Once I see the case I'll know if its even a Ford trans. Im guessing it is because it has a 10 spline input.

I'll have to go out there and see what it is. My friend was reading the numbers to me but they didnt sound like anything for a T5.

 

there is/was some site that had a listing on what all the id tags were for t5 mustangs.
