Default Maximum Backspacing on a Fox Body

Ok... what tires are you guys running out back? I am curious to know what is the maximum widt rim I can run out back without lip issues. Could I get away with a 15x8 weld with a 5.5 backspacing. A guy I work with was telling me I can run a 15x9 but don't know the backspacing on it.

Help is appreciated.

Look up the 17x9 10th anniversary wheels. I THINK they were 5.12bs?? Anyway, they put the wheel and tire very close to the inner wheelhouse, but not touching. If you are running a flexible slick, it might not work though, as the outside was also close.

Check out this thread to see a LOT of wheels combos. People get away with some crazy sizes using a BFH and rolling the lips

I read all the time 8 inch rim needs 5.5 bs.
I also read that the 10 inch rim needs 6.5 bs.

I run the 10th Anniversary wheel which is a 9 inch rim with a 6.12 bs.

I also rolled the lip on rear fender wheel to fit the 275/40R17 under there nicely....

Not to hi-jack, but I wish they made those 10th wheels with a deep-dish option at 10.5 width - that would rock.

B - we need to get together to see how your wheels look on my Mach

Let me know... I'll take them off and throw them in the truck. I will come down and we can test fit, right before we head over to Hooters!!!

10.5 would look fine on your sn. everyone here who has purchased 10+ wheels for a fox finds out they dont fit to well. 9" is about the lomit if you intend to run any sort of tire.
