Default thinkin of doing a swap

getting an awsome deal on a 98 cobra motor. what beside the wiring harness, tranny, and motor mounts, involves swappin a modular engine into a 88 coupe???

well im spending 2500, engine tranny, and wiring harness. can anyone tell me anything else

yeah.........talk with JDL1000. It's pretty involved. Alot of the stuff believe it or not swaps in...JDL even swapped in the gauge cluster.....the gas tanks are the same.....The HVAC unit even went in smooth from what he showed me. Your going to have to get up off some jack to get it done.....good luck...hope it's not even remotely close to your daily driver

from what i understand, its not the easiest thing to do. someone told me also i have to take the firewall back 3 1/2". true or false???

Thats around the price I got all my stuff for when I did my swap. Pretty much the same parts to. Except I got mine with full exhaust. Try and find a local donor car (eddy might have something). Piecing everything together is a PITA but it can be done. Jason(jdl1000) had a donor car I believe. I wasnt kidding when I said youll need EVERYTHING! From the front headlights to the rear and everything inbetween. You can frankinstine the wiring but you could be setting yourself up for disaster. Bad wiring = fire. Not good. Look over on modulardepot.com and there are quit a few modular foxes on there. Again, good luck.

false. youll need a 4.6 k-member though. AJE has one for this swap.

i have priced out alot of motors and shit for it, because the car is just sittin. so i figure this would be a awsome project. why would i have to change the headlights???

i seen someone put a cobra motor in an 86gt and he had to take the firewall back
