As soon as I hung up with Pat today my mother in law calls me. My son is jumping on the trampoline in my back yard and there is a snake in the grass a few feet from where he is. Thankfully there is a net around the trampoline for when the little daredevil tries to eject himself. I race home and not to discount my mother in law but I figured it was a large black racer or something like that. I get home and she was able to get my son out of the trampoline and get everyone inside. I live next to an old orange grove and we have had our occasional corn snake and grass snake but never a damn cotton mouth. I walked back out shotty in hand and there is was... zooming around my back yard like it was looking for it's car keys... this fucker had to go. My mother in law said there were 2 more out there but I never saw them after I turned their buddy into paste. I'd say about 3 feet before he was headless.
