His Uniform doesn't look much different than mine does.... it's great that the Corps has kept the Dress Blue the same.

THANK YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALL ALL THE OTHER FORUM MEMBERS WHO SERVED..MY FATHER AND HIS BROTHER WERE IN THE KOREAN WAR,MY FATHER'S BROTHER DIDN'T MAKE IT BACK.MY OLDER TWO BROTHERS SERVED IN THE INFANTRY.I MYSELF SEEN THE WORLD GOOD AND BAD RETIRED IN 98 AT US CENTRAL COMMAND,MACDILL AFB. My Papa was a Cheif Petty Officer in the Navy.. he earned the Navy Cross and a billion other medals serving 20 something years in the Navy.. my other Grandad was a Pilot in the Air Force..they both served in the final years of WWII, Vietnam, and the Korean War..


I miss them both VERY much and I still can't go see them without losing it..

 

That's a neat story Scott. My grandfather is still alive at 82, but he has a deteriorating heart so doesn't have many years left. He was in the VA hospital a few weeks ago so I went and visited with him. As I was walking in, I saw a sign out front that said "The Price Of Freedom Is Visible Here".

It really hit home then. He fought in WW2 in France, was shot a few times, came home, had a healthy family, a successful business etc. I have been very fortunate that I haven't lost anyone close to me yet, but I know that luck won't last long.

So yes, spend time with your older relatives because you really will regret it if you don't.
