Your grandpa is up stairs doing Push-ups with Chesty Puller....

His Uniform doesn't look much different than mine does.... it's great that the Corps has kept the Dress Blue the same.

My Papa was a Cheif Petty Officer in the Navy.. he earned the Navy Cross and a billion other medals serving 20 something years in the Navy.. my other Grandad was a Pilot in the Air Force..they both served in the final years of WWII, Vietnam, and the Korean War..

I miss them both VERY much and I still can't go see them without losing it..

That's a neat story Scott. My grandfather is still alive at 82, but he has a deteriorating heart so doesn't have many years left. He was in the VA hospital a few weeks ago so I went and visited with him. As I was walking in, I saw a sign out front that said "The Price Of Freedom Is Visible Here".

It really hit home then. He fought in WW2 in France, was shot a few times, came home, had a healthy family, a successful business etc. I have been very fortunate that I haven't lost anyone close to me yet, but I know that luck won't last long.

So yes, spend time with your older relatives because you really will regret it if you don't.
