how much power can a stock 302 lower end handle?

We need to either sticky this or something equally as helpful. This thread over and over again is getting old.

500whp is the standard safe norm. Less if you have hypertectic shit pistons instead of the factory forged pistons.

Was making almost 500 rwhp safely on mine driving it to and from the track. Then I have seen stock motors with a 125 shot go kaboom.

It has more to do with the tune up and supporting components than anything else.

Run it lean and mean be ready for a failure of some sort. Run it kind of fat and happy (12.5 afr or lower) and it will last longer.
