Default quick help needed please

So I changed my plugs and wires and I think I have everything mapped properly according to the diagram, however car is still sputtering and I can smell fuel like it's running really rich. any suggestions?

it's an 02 mustang 3.8L

Just for troubleshooting purposes I swapped the 1 and 2 wires thinking maybe my tracing of the wire was off..when I did that it wouldn't fire up at all. so I switched them back. also unplugged the battery to reset the pcm and it's running a little better but still a lot of popping when i hit the accelorator. any shade tree mechanics in the clearwater largo area wanna make a couple bucks? I'm hoping maybe another set of eyes will point out what I'm obviously overlooking.

maybe you broke a wire while fitting them on. maybe a bad plug, are they all tight? coil pack go bad?

If you know how to use a timing light, plug it to all the wires one by one and see if when you start it the light flashes. this way you tell if your getting spark to all plugs. change the plugs if you haven't already.

Thanks for the reply, I think it's a simple fix and I'm just overlooking something. looking at this diagram can someone tell me which side is the front of the car?
