Default wtf

i was gonna take out the pony in my grill today and either paint it black and put it back on or just leave it off.. and i thought it was just an allen key to take it off.. but there is some metal think in the middle of it too.. so i would need a hollow allen key..

is there some special tool to take this mother fucker off or something?
