In reality if you want to purchase the best turbo you will need to read the compressor maps. However, there is Master Power T70 that you can purchase with an .81 AR, (air radius) and throw it on a pretty much stock stang and put down some really great numbers. Plenty of peoplel are doing it on TM.com. I think if you purchase a MasterPower turbo from one of the vendors on TM.com they will give you a 4" thick intercooler for only 100.00 more. You can alos pick up a wastegate and BOV from the same vendor for good price also. I picked up my 46mm Tial on Ebay for 315.00 new from Precision Turbo, look around, the deals are out there.

.81 A/R is bigger than you need on a stock motor. A .68 A/R will do you just fine. +1 on the MP T70, I've got one. Hell, I'm going got 500whp and using a .68 A/R. Its been done many, many times before. The smaller A/R will allow the turbo to spool faster but you have to be careful not to get it too small or you'll choke the turbo up top, by the way - I figure you're wondering what teh difference is.
Stay the fuck away from EBay 'bargain' turbos, thats all I have to say about EBay.

I am using a Master Power T70 with a .68 AR on my car now..... Stock shortblock, E303 cam, 165 AFR's, Weiand 7515 intake with a blow thru carb(no intercooler) and a powerglide.....
With 12lbs of boost shifting at 6000 it runs 6.90's at Sunshine at almost 105 mph.....
I am very happy with the results.....
