Default coil over springs

I think I have my front suspension figured out for now. I am planning on an aje k-member and tubular a-arms with strange adjustable struts and strange coil over kit for the struts. My question is about the coil springs. Is there anything special about the strange hypercoils as opposed afco springs? Afco's seem to be about half the price. Also what is a good spring rate to get started with. I am thinking a 130# or lower in a 14" spring. Thanks
John

yea the 130 is going to be to light. most people use 175s, if your car is real light go with 150s.
