pull 4-5 degrees out and start from there evev if you dont hear detonation .. check your plugs often. Do you know what it sounds like? U will hear a light rattling noise souds almost as if its valve ticking or somone rattling a can tab they dropped into a beer can ect

I had a 150 on my old fox and it ran fine with timing a few degrees lower and a fuel pump. Went to 180 and fuel pump went out and so did the bottom end
