Default Lightning ?'s

Looking into getting a lightning. Please keep all bs out of this thread.

Pros and Cons please. <------------

I plan to get one to mod and daily drive for work, so I dont want to get to crazy with it just like pullies,bolt ons, chip, tune, drag radials. I will be starting a project here soon this is just to hold me over till then

If you dont like my idea of daily driving it with with such mods dont reply. kthnxbye

I am thinking the same thing. I know that some of the older ones spit spark plugs out and there was a TSB on it.

What is a TSB sorry for my lack of knowledge it is also very early in the a.m maybe that has something to do with it.

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin
IT is what Ford releases when they have issues with something, but don't feel it is worth a recall.

I belive that pre-03 had the issue with only 3 or 4 threads in the spark plug hole. Anything after that has the revised heads.

And also the trans issues in the pre 03's I thik it is. Other than those two I have never heard anything else at all.

I personally love L's.

Not sure about the plugs but i know the 02+ models were the best ones so far. I looked at pros and cons between a lightning and 03/04 cobra, besides room and 1/4 times the lightning is horrible on gas mileage. Lightning gets like 12-15 mpg and with todays gas prices forget it

My dad has one.(2003) I like it, he likes it. Its got a ported and pullied blower with a few other misc bolt ons and i know for a fact itll get better than 12 mpg. Plus its a respecatable 400+ HP truck in the low to mid 12's. Id say get one. I think youd like it

I love my L.I don't have alot done to it,pullies,cat-back,tune and drag radials and it ride's out.The best part of owning one is the torque,it's endless and if you can get it to hook,most of the cars you play with will get left with a quickness.Plus,it's comfortable to drive everyday,the gas milelage isn't too bad if you drive normaly(I drive 60+ miles a day)and you have the capabilities of towing and a bed.What's better than owning a truck than can rip off mid 12 second passes and still be a daily driver tow truck?Get one you'll love it.

I have a friend that has one, and he wouldn't sell it for the world! I've driven it a couple of times and it's pretty fucking fun!
