Default Why i could not race tonight.

Went to the track paid the $20 fee, parked the car, filled out my tech card, turned it in, got my wristband. head back to my car, see NA306Stang to get my nitrous jets back (thanks man). when i get close to my car i notice a big puddle of fluid under my car.

Hot tranny fluid.

I have had a leak where after about two weeks of sitting it lost enough fluid to where the car would not engage gear under about 2500 RPM, i thought it was the pan bolts, i was able to snug them up the other day about 1/8th a turn each. So today i add the missing two quarts of fluid, wash the dirt off the tires and left.

well the pan was not leaking and my worst fear of the converter or the front seal leaking was not true. it was the stupid little gasket that seals the dipstick to the tranny case. somehow it split on the back side and pushed about half way out of the hole. When the car is sitting with the motor off and the fluid all drains into the pan it runs out of the seal.

I already e-mailed PA transmissions (PA tranny and PA dipstick) to see if the seal is an off the shelf part i can pick up at the parts store of if it is a special design

(yes i know my exhaust looks like shit, but it was free)
you can see how the seal looks like it is up too high here.

This pic is turned 90deg.

you can see how much of the gasket is sticking up, it should be almost flush.

That sucks.....but it is a easy fix. That right there is def worth the $20.00 you spent for nothing,at least it was nothing big.

I think I have a lokar dipstick with seal brand new in the box for a c4 case fill tranny mount.

If you want it let me know.

750 hp rated C4 = $1200
500hp rated T-57 = $2400
not including that mine will shift much faster than a T-56 and it weighs less.

Well I got an email back from PA the seal is from ford. It is for a taurus with the axod tranny.

Anyone have a part number or at least know what year taurus would have the axod?

I almost ran out of gas also, turning on my road car started breaking up almost died in pulling in the driveway. I guess that half cell of gas I thought was in there was even less.
