Didnt think it would be pulling teeth to get a guesstimate on a Brand new engine. I know no one can say a real good guess to a price till its know what it exactly is. Just thought i could get a ball park.

3-500 depending on variables (reg old crate $400AVG-Keith Craft Top Dog Motor 10,000) so these guys are right on asking specs, kinda hard to tell it like saying I have a 3 bedroom house whats it worth?

For 3800 you could have a nice 347with pretty nice internals.

400-gt-40 heads
1600-Stroker kit
100-Bolts
Prob one of the Jasper F'd in the A specials, 225hp 1 year warranty all crap internals 3800

More than likely its not a 302 but a 289, they usually had the bigger Plug holes.esp a 2bbl

If it truely was a 3800 nice motor look for around $750 from the right person because they have to take your word for the internals or worse, take it apart and find out for themselves, or $150 in TR Dollars and 5 people who want it but never show up.

 

Nah, DrDirt is making wild guesses as to what engine might be in a '68 Fairlane or Falcon...without fully reading the title. The term "crate engine" really doesn't mean much...at least to me. I personally consider a crate engine to mean just a stock replacement engine although I know a lot of people consider a fully built ass kicker that they buy from an engine builder to be a crate engine. Soo, it's difficult for me to envision one for the above mentioned cars to be worth $3800.

Oh, and I'm on a cocktail of Viagra, Cialis, Celebrex and Geritol. Life is good.
