My rear window is not big enough at this point for all the hands I have had in this project.

 

At idle it has about 65psi.

At 7k rpms it has right around 100.

It was built to use this kind of psi. And the block had a lot of mods for it too.

 

Wasn't looking to impress.

I have a lot of people to thank in some way or another from over the years and most have stickers. Whether they sold me the proper bolts or helped with fabbing something I owe all of them a big thanks in my book. Of course as long as it all works !

Probably won't put any to play it safe.

My little test proved my theory (for once thankfully )and some other turbo people (not on TR) wrong.

Now once again just need to try to find some dyno time unless I find some other nit picky stuff to over analyze.

 

Nah as I mentioned before I was have oil blow by in the exhaust pipe. After lots of checking and eliminating any motor issues (thank goodness ! ) it pointed to the turbo.

After a lot of calling around and checking with various turbo people it turns out I was feeding the turbo to much oil 80-100 psi..

So good ole TJ and I conferred at Coastal and off to Amazon Hose I went for a fitting. He welded it up and set the hole / restriction to what seemed to be right and back to the house I went. To make sure that was correct I t'd in that pressure gage to make sure I was not starving the turbo or still over oiling. Turns out it was dead on the money for what psi I was told to run in a non ball bearing turbo. Hopefully that number is the correct one since I am not a oil or fluid dynamics expert.

I just called back a few of the people I talked with and I think I have all of them thinking they need to go out tomorrow and check the oil psi at their turbo given how far some of them are off or by the size tubing they are using.

Again I was probably over analzying this to begin with but it proved very useful in the end.

I should take it to the track with the gage on it, that would confuse the shit out of a few for sure since I have never seen a gage there before on any other car.

Time for a beer and a big fucking sigh of relief !
