Holy shit..hope everybody's ok! This is why I never stand in front of or behind a car when the driver fires it up. Always to the side.

I Understood a neutral-safety switch was in the NHRA rules? Hope they can put their bits back together.

They said that both people were ok. It was a bloody mess when it happened though. Glad everyone was ok.

As for standing in front of it. I doubt he was right in front of it but rather to the side. As far as I know it's required with those types of car. Not sure what they do but you always see a guy to the side messing with stuff to help it fire.

Some good racing out there.

So he was out a ways in front enough to turn and hit him? That's scary. I'm paranoid. I stand behind the starter's concrete barrier or on the other side of the guardrail during burnouts.

From what I understand it was when they were starting the car up before he did his burnout.

Yeah it was in front of the water box. The guy was helping on the car. I'm unsure if the woman was with them or just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It was the Gambino car.

At least they are both ok. Hate to see things like this happen. The response time of the bayflight was pretty impressive considering how far out the track is.
