Okay here's where I am now...

System completely bled, nice tight pedal feel but the rear calipers still do not compress enough (I think) to stop the car. Put tires back on and took her for a test drive tonight drove at about 40mph and slammed my brakes, pedal made a hissing sound and the car came to a very slow stop. Definately not the kind of stopping power to do any good.

When the car is running at idle and I press the brake pedal I get this hissing sound.

This has been a 3 week ordeal and I'm done dicking around with it, if anyone knows a tech who can fix my brakes and make them work please give me their phone number. This is a complete '88 Thunderbird Rear Disc Conversion on a '90 GT. Buying a different rear brake kit is not an option, I would like this to work and willing to pay someone who knows wtf they are doing to fix it.

sounds like the brake booster is leaking vacuum...bad booster. that won't affect the rear brakes though, just make the pedal effort harder if anything.

I'll buy it! today!

try bleeding the brakes some more, if we made progress last night then maybe some more would get you to where you need. It sucks I know but maybe use the valve and adjust completely to the front and bleed for a while then completely to the rear and bleed some more. You're set up is nice, nice car don't sell.
