what year is your mustang?, is it a fox or an sn95 or a new edge or what.

I can tell you on fox coupes you just pop up the seat bottom and undue two little bolts on the side for the upper

on a fox hatch If I remember correctly you have to take out the little bolt in the center that holds the 2 uppers for the folddown together, etc, I 'm sure others can pipe in now that they're home from work.

the bars that *I think* you're talking about hold the lower in place on coupes.

he might also be talking about the two bars that are sort of U shaped. they are under the seat. when i helped a buddy of mine get the seats out of a 90 5.0 hatch. The only bolts i remember are the ones you talked about. YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE SEATS OUT AS 1 PIECE NOT SEPERATLY. after we took the seats out there were 2 black bars underneath. i think that they are just for support since the seats are much heavier than a coupe rear seat...

actually the back seat bottom kind of "clips" on to those 2 black u shaped bars. you have to kind of push in and pull up to pull the seat bottom off, nothing else holds that on. kind of the reverse to put it back on.

Yes exactly!.

Well I don't exactly wnat to take the seat out.. One side of the seat is in place and the other is on an angle and just sitting in the air a little.. The side that was sitting in the air is just high enough for me to get my hand under to feel the bar (it is about 1" in diameter pretty sturdy bar that runs in a u shaped across the rear of the car).... Well then I felt on the bottom of the cushion for the grove where the seat "clips in".. I felt it then I tried to line them up.. No luck... Is there a trick to getting it back in?

Please help

thanks for the help I am getting so far though..
