Default 2003 Gt question

Ok the car hesitates when its trying to start, it is an intermittent problem that only seems to happen after the car is driven for a long period of or if it is driven hard. I thought that it was either fuel or spark related, but I changed the plugs and it still does it. I am going to change the fuel filter and see if that does anything. Has anyone had this problem or heard of this? Also the car has 42,000 miles is there anything else that should of been changed out before that mileage?

My 4.6 did that occasionally. then the IAC finally took a shit and would not idle under 1/4 throttle.

This only happens when I try to start the car, do you think this could be the same problem that you were having?

mine did it a few times while trying to start then did not happen, then the IAC went out. This is over the span of a few months.

I dont think its the starter but I will definitely look into that also. It has done this since I had the car in february. most of the time it starts right up but other times it doesn't its really annoying. I also took it to walker ford and they couldn't duplicate the problem so they did nothing. how much did the IAC cost and how big of a pain is it to fix?

IAC = Idle air control
Not a big deal to replace
I did mine in a few minutes
A few bolts and a plug

walker, freedom and veterans all could not fix it. it has to do with not getting fuel. it sputters and then gets going.
