i put the tfs1 in mine and had the heads ported and milled a little. made 292/332 to the wheels with the stock clutch fan

Used an E with mine... 295/326 with a stock sn95 t/body, maf and computer

you can use stock valves with no problems,and you could use the stock springs if you don't go over 500 lift cam.but for the cost of the spring kit i would do it so you don't have to worry about valves floating.i have the comp cam kit on both sets of my heads,never had any problems.they 110 pounds of seat pressure,and capable off 542 lift.hope this helps.

i highly doubt that x will clear, never heard of someone usin it on a stock shortblock before, I used a tfs1 cam in mine, made 270/320 with bone stock heads, crane springs.

x cam will work on a stock bottom end with the stock heads that have been shaved.460tzille ran a x cam on ported e7 with trickflow valve springs on his old car.they say in the ford books that the stock pistons can handle a 544 lift with a 184 intake valve.but is allways good to double check your piston to valve clearence.i would stick with the e cam my self for that combo you are going to run.i am running a e cam with 1.7 rockers on my stock bottom end ho motor, with my ported e7 heads,that equals to a 532 lift.
