Good shop for head work? 4V
I just had my 4V C heads overhauled. The only thing left is to fix the 4 sparkplug thread problem. The cylinder head shop that did the heads doesnt want to Helicoil the threads for me. Does anyone know of a shop that is comfortable doing this and has done it on a 4V head?

I should have mentioned it, but i didnt. Sam is doing my motor, but i'm having the heads done on my own since he has a lot of work. Also i took them to National cyclinder head exchange. They do all of Ramseys work. The CAN do it, but have not done it on 4V heads and dont want to try it.
Sam recomended Engine lab, but they want over $300. Keep in mind i'm bringing the heads to them and the are not on the short block. Sam said he thought it would be some where under $200 So over $300 is a big jump and i cant afford that much extra at the time.
I know prices can vary quiet a bit some times so i'm checking my options. I called Horsepower by Herman(sp?) and need4speed, i only reached HBH, but he never called back with a price.
Thanks for the input.

The thread repair that Engine Lab uses is a permanant insert that is pinned into place. This is a far superior piece than a helicoil. But, Im not positive that they would work/fit in a 4V. The inserts are mainly used on the 2v's. You can always call back and request a helicoil instead; Im sure that will lower the price.
I've never heard of anything else, and link to info? vs. a helicoil is installed how? I thought thats just what a Helicoil is. It appears to me like they want to charge me the price of the tool and labor. I asked the lady that answered if they have ever done it before and what not and she asnwer yes to everyhting and then 2 seconds later it sounded like she had no idea what i was talking about. Like they had never done it before.
Thats what i said i wanted the Helicoil. If they cant get right what i asked directly, then i dont know if i want to give them my buisness.
