5.4 in a Fox
isnt the 5.4 the same as the 4.6 other than bore and stroke. if so there are plenty of 4.6 cobra motors in foxes so i would say it would work. as a matter of fact there is a guy on TR that has a cobra motor with i believe a whipple in his black fox fit right in with a few hood mods.

A 5.4 is wider and taller. A DOHC 4.6 is a TIGHT fit. I cant imagine a 5.4

The four-eyed Fox was called Project Frightening (sp?). I remember they had to go with a manual brake setup due to the width of the motor. The also had to use a different wiring setup (Painless Wiring if I recall correctly) to get around the passive anti-theft that is incorporated with the factory wiring of the modular cars. The motor is so heavy they pictured two guys picking up the rear of the car.

A 5.4 will fit in a fox. Here is a couple of pics of a 5.4 32 valve in a fox with a turbo.

wow, I knew JDL would atleast know if not have resources to back it up..LOL..
I asked because yeah, I heard from some people it will go, some say it will go but requires mods to the shock towers because of the width.
Im not too worried about the factory wiring. I have a standalone ECU to handle the management portion of it. Its mainly the bolting it in side of it.
Think I could keep my A/C with it??
Or am I just alot better off going with a twin cam 4.6? Im not ready to do it just yet anyhow, but trying to work towards a plan for when my block splits in half...

The 5.4 will drop in the mustang without any body mods. You won't have to touch the shock towers. You will need a tubular k-member made for a mod motor swap.
My k-member part# (MU-3020 MS w/4.6 Mts $329) and here is were you can buy it.

Oh one more thing. You can keep the A/C. My car has ice cold A/C with powersteering and powerbrakes.
