my stepfather is a deputy with psco. i asked, and it's perfectly legal.

I'nm gonna' have to throw the bullshit flag on that one....this is why your not allowed to run with clear tailights...white flashing looks like headlights.....if he is sitting in his car with the lights off...your'e headlights will reflect off his lenses.......front or rear lenses.....
I have on MANY occasions seen troopers sitting right on the shoulder of the interstate at 2am-5am in remote areas of pitch darkness. They dont stand out any more than a disabled vehicle. I do think its somewhat dangerous for all involved, and a disabled vehicle is there out of necessity. Many times they will park in a place that has some other type of cover as well to prevent you seeing them until the last second.
Personally it doesnt bother me, but every time I see it I do think "you crazy SOB...."

its called cops do what the fuck they want.... they write what they want on their reports and say what they want to in court. right or wrong legal or not.....

Let's face it, are alot of cops assholes? ya... and is parking on the side of a road entrapment? no... entrapment would be if that mustang on I-4 asked you to race, and you said are you a cop?, he said no, you proceeded to race with him, and he pulled you over, or had another cop pull you over, and he was actually a cop.

I'm pretty new to FL, so what does this mustang look like? It would be just my luck to find myself next to him on a highway and doing something stupid when he tries to get me to race...
