What else do I need?
I have a 93 5.0 lx coupe that I am putting a vortech v-2 s-trim w/aftercooler on. It came with a t-rex pump and FMU. I need to know what else I need to put on it before I get it tuned(engine wise). I also purchased a trickflow upper and lower with a 75mm accufab TB and egr plate. Along with BBK long tubes, x-pipe and 40 series flows. What size injectors should I get? Can I get them off a donor car? Its my first 5.0 mustang so I need a little guidance.
You can get 500 on a stock block, many will say you cant, but it can be done, with a really good tune. Look into some 42# injectors and a blow through MAF, or some kind of tuning to work with the charger, good luck.

that t-rex is nasty loud and the fmu is very problematic. had a buddy that had both and we got rid of both. we put a 255 in the tank and got a aftermarket fpr and gauge. works great and runs better, he isn't pushing 500 hp yet but the mechanics of the car is a lot quieter and not running near as rich as it used to. just my .02

BigDawg's correct. Get some 42# injectors and throw the FMU in the garbage.

You can get 500 out of a stock shortblock, but not with what you got I dont think.
I think you are going to need a set of heads and a cam to make it to 500...And more fuel pump. You oughta upgrade the intank pump to a 255.
And injector size depends on how you fuel it. If you run an FMU, your injectors dont have to be as big. But FMU's suck. And if you dont know what ratio FMU you have, you are kinda in the dark.
To be on the safe side, the MSD BTM isnt a bad idea. It actually came with the Vortech kit. That said, the previous owner of my car used to have a pulley'd B trim on the car running 14psi of boost, low 400s on HP, and he did it without the BTM and no chip or anything. Just an FMU, 36lb injectors and a Pro M 77 meter.
