Default New to the Mustang GT ?questions?

Hello everyone!!!

I recently purchased a '93 Mustang GT manual. I LOVE this car!!!

My questions are:

I was talking to a freind about exhaust and he said something about a dump tube exahust? where can I find one? anyone have it?

And I saw a turbo kit at www.turbochargedpower.com that I am drooling over
anyone have it?

My last question is where is the "best" source for 5.0 performance parts? I was looking around www.yearone.com for that too.

But just saying hi to all my fellow ford owners out there!!!
hope to have fun here with you guys.

The best and cheapest source of parts is in Ford Forum for sale. There is always a ton of 5.0 parts in there.

Dumps is where you take off the tail pipes and just have turn downs off the mufflers, i had it and wouldnt recommend it, it made it too loud inside the car and the car smelled like exhaust in the car. I have always got my parts off ebay or summit.....

Chris,

As far as the dumps, it does give the car a deep sound, however the down sides are already talked about. A nice set of headers, off road X or H pipe and cat back will give you good sound and performance.

As far as the parts....
For restoration stuff, 50resto.com is about the best. They have everything to put back to stock or very close.
For Performance, There are several local performance shops (list at the top of this forum), A and E, Summitracing.com, jegs.com, and for a great list of part, pick up any Muscle Mustang and Fast Ford magazine. Just about every page has a vendor selling something....

Good Luck

Yeah 50resto.com is a great place but if you get lost in their pages go to dallasmustang.com great for resto parts very knowledgable and price is good (my exp.) If you need something your best bet like the old man said is ford forum for sale. If its not there just post a thread asking if anyone has what you need, most of us have shit laying around that were never gonna use.

As for Year One get ready to sign over your first born!!!! very expensive, again my exp. with them. But welcome and hope your prepared for a very expensive hobby

There is no one "best place" for parts. Shop around. Surf business homepages, compare prices, flip through magazines, surf board classifieds sections like on here.

Very true i subscribe to 5.0 mustang and Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords (MMFF) But i've seen and bought a couple of new mags that just got started and were very well written and had alot of good info. The newest one that i'm gonna subscrive to is Modified Mustang, I think?

See how the muffler ends in front of the axle? thats a dump set-up. I went with it because im cheap, and i dont have to drive the car everyday.
