I just noticed the writeup on Cnn.com under money section....dealers are marking the car up $20,000 and people are paying for it? Again it is an awesome car don't get me wrong and I would love to have one but is it worth it?

 

and the big 3 can't figure out why they are going under

 

I wont pay a big markup on a car...not matter the car. The dealer with the best price that I think is fair will get the sale. Thats the the way its always been.

 

How many of them are they making? I remember seeing around a 150k markup on the ford gt!! but they were only making like 2k a year....

but what is a shelby gt going for 100k?

 

No MSRP for a coupe is going to be around 47 and some change sepending on the options+your 20-25k markup. Anyone that is going to pay that for a ford, a new car at that is out of their mind or they just are just looking for something to spend money on. I worked for a BMW dealership and when we got the first 06 M5 they were wanting like 25 over sticker on that and that car is like 100k at msrp for a loaded one. so youre gonna pay the same markup for an american made car and a car that is half the price. just waite a while you will see them on the lots like you used to see the old cobras.

 

i love my mustangs, but no way in HELL i would pay that type of markup.. It's called GREED by the dealer. Yes, they have every right to do it, but it's absurd.

 

jusst like the gas you happily pay too much for everyday, it's called supply and demand. there is a short supply, each dealer is lucky to get 3, if even that. good luck finding one pre-owned.
