Default Harness has been installed

I got a stock 86 harness and a ford racing maf conversion kit from shawn last week and we put it in last night with some good and bad results

At least now the car will idle with the mass air meter plugged in. We still have some symptoms however...

If I try to bring the throttle up to around 2000 rpm and hold it there, at a point the RPMS will just drop without me removing my foot from the pedal. Does anyone have any clue what could cause this problem?

Did you unhook the hose from the MAP sensor on the firewall? You're supposed to do that and cap off the hose. That might be the problem if you didn't.

When I had that problem it was ignition related, not wiring.

How about the throttle position sensor? Did you check that? When I swapped to mass air the voltage to the sensor changed on my car. Is the filament inside the mass air meter housing clean? You can clean that by spraying it with CRC electrical contact cleaner.

Other than that start pulling codes from it. The problem may be something very simple.

Hey I pulled the following codes and took the pictures of some suspect pieces in the engine bay that we are unsure of their purpose...

Codes (from actron scanner)

ENGINE OFF(INGNITION ON)
21 engine coolant temp sensor signal voltage:out of range;not at normal operating temperature or loss of signal (during normal engine operation)
OR
(EDIS) fault (electronic distributorless ignition system) - problems with CPS (crankshaft posistioning sensor circuit)

22 MAP Sensor or BAP sensor signal voltage out of specification or not at normal vacuum levels

81 Thermactor Air Diverter solenoid failure or electro drive fan:circuit failure or intake air control valve circuit failure or boost solenoid circuit failure

82 Thermactor Air Bypass solenoid :circuit failure or electro-drive fan:circuit failure, or supercharger bypass solenoid circuit failure

85 cannister purge solenoid circuit failure or transaxle problem -3/4 shift solenoid circuit failure or Electronic control assembly status - adaptive "lean" limit reached in fuel control program

95 Thermactor air system problem - right (passenger) side airflow always upstream or Fuel pump monitor (FPM) indicates circuit problem

----------------------

Engine running codes

98 A system problem is present causing the electronic control assembly to operate in failure management and effects mode OR right side O2 sensor indicates "lean" during "rich" air/fuel conditions OR electronic pressure control solenoid-circuit failure

66 Mass air flow snesor or vane air flow sensor - voltage singal too low OR transmission oil temperature sensor - voltage too low

*GASP*

Let me show you some pictures i took. This was during the engine on test obviously when the rpms are raised - id say these headers are a little warm

I have no clue what the hell these two things do but i believe the codes about the thermactors have something to do with it
These two pieces mount near eachother on the passenger side of the strut tower facing the firewall
