Default Ordered a Shelby GT500

Not me (I wish), but my 56-year-old mother just put a deposit down on a 2007 Shelby GT500 vert in blue (black top & black interior). Build date is scheduled for June/July of 2007. This should make a nice replacement for the '03 Cobra vert she is currently driving. Hopefully she will hang onto this car since I forsee it being worth TONS of money 15-20 years down the road.

She ended up at Ernie Haire Ford. However she did luck out since the day she came in was the exact same time when they recieved their allocation numbers from Ford. From what I understand, so long as they are within their allocation they can order your GT500. Only problem is dealerships are only being allocated about 3-5 units, and not all dealerships are SVT dealers.

Well she decided to trade in the '03 Cobra on an '07 Vette 6-speed vert. This is her first GM since the '83 IROC-Z my parents purchased new...complete with rear louvers.

I'm told this is a temporary car until Ford offers the GT500 without a markup (I doubt that will ever happen). But in the meantime, at least she'll have something fun to drive that will hopefully be less problem prone than her '03 Cobra. I'll post pics as soon as I can get over to her house to see the new...ugh...GM.
