more head bolt info needed

Default more head bolt info needed

Ok Jeff at blue oval tolled me that if i have a 89-92 5.0 i can use the stock bolts.But dont know what bolts i have because my motor was rebuilded the head bolts i pulled out look new how can i tell if there useable again.They just need to work for 6 or 7 weeks till i redo my 331.Thanks for the help guys

get studs and use them in both motors, never have to buy bolts again.

i will buy them when i rebuild the 331 but what about the stockers

don't use the stockers.....if you want low budget...but ARP head bolts...not the studs....they are less than 50 bucks.....

You do know the stock bolts are torque to yeild, which means only one time, at least put a bolt stretch gauge and check it out, personally, I would not reuse them but thats just me.

i would invest in studs i use them, and i only have a 308

And Jeff is right about the 88-95 5.0 head bolts are not torque to yield. You can reuse them but I would not suggest it.
