Actually his car should have a TREMEC 3650 trans. I would say use the trans unless you can upgrade to a T56 (03-04 Cobra trans). The king cobra clutch will for sure give up on you if your running those numbers. I can tell you from experience the Centerforce DF clutch will give up around 550 RWHP. I went with a DFX clutch from centerforce and I haven't had any problems so far. Its reasonably priced. About 500.00 for clutch kit and TB.

Let me know how that thing runs when you get it all together.

I guess some had the T45 and some came with the 3650? Well if the T45 is what you have you will need to upgrade the trans. The T45's aren't really any better than the T5's were. Good luck with the build. Keep me updated. Currently I'm building a new Modfox coupe. But the old one is still running strong.

A t-56 is not the greatest tranny for drag. It has a horrible 2.95 1st gear. You could either go with a G-force t-5 (pricey) or a tried and true TKO 500/600. That T45 will hold as long as you don't powershift it. Oh and as far a clutches back when I had a CF DF and a monster 298rwhp mine slipped on drag radials. It only last maybe 4-5k miles. I went to a spec stage 3 (very aggresive for the street) and it holds 7k lauches and still chirps 4th on slicks. -Mark
