Oil burning question
I have a 1999 Mustang GT and i've noticed it burns alot of oil. I've never had a leak or it smoke, but I recently checked it and it was way low.. Has anyone ever had this problem with the 2v 4.6's. Could it be a problem with the motor, or are these prone to do this. Car is stock with an o/r X pipe. Any info would be appreciated. Oh and also what oil do you suggest running, maybe to help stop the burning.. Thanks guys

id go with a little thicker oil. It could be something such as your PCV valve not working right anymore, valve stem seals are shot, or your piston rings are going.
my truck burns oil, last oil changed I tossed in a bottle of half of lucas. It slowed down the burning considerably. Give it a shot, its only $7 and wont cause any harm. Your car will smoke like a SOB on cold start ups for the first week though.

Not daily driving. I've had the car since september and put maybe 3500 miles on it. Only time I get on it is if im racing someone, which isnt entirely that often. Other than that I drive it normal.
