Default Head, cam, bottom combo?

Thinking of running an F-cam (I now have an E-cam) and AFR 185 heads on a stock bottom end. Any advice, experience or warnings on this combo? Dangers of valve to piston clearance, good combo, bad combo, etc. Thanks in advance.

I run a F-cam with Dart heads and 1.6 RR with no problems. Car sounds good too. My car has stock bottom end.

i run a F-cam 1.7 rockers, and TEA ported TFS track heat heads. Sound like a good combo that has the potential to make good usable street HP.

The springs that come on AFR185s are good for up to .550 max lift. and have 2.020 values.

E303 - .498 max lift with 1.6 rockers,
F303 - .512 max lift with 1.6 rockers,
F303 - .544 max lift with 1.7 rockers, (.512/1.6=.32x1.7=.544)

1.6, you should be good.
1.7s will work for the springs. As far as clearance, guess everyone else has already covered that.

u need to notch the pistons, AFR 185s valves are too big.. 165 with an F cam would work fine

2.02 valves will be pushing it with a stock bottum end and an f cam... 1.94 valves will definately work though.

Cool! Thanks all. I was hoping not to notch.
