Why is your insurance company dealing with this? Shouldn't the trucking company be dealing with this and paying for the problem?

I just didn't hear you say anything about the trucking company paying for the problem

A while back I was driving on the highway and a crank from a dump truck flew off and hit the windshield and the roof and the trucking company slpit the bill and my insurance company didn't even hear about it...

The guy didnt even report it to his insurance company. My adjuster called them Friday and got the process started. My attorney has assured me that the other guy's insurance will definitely be paying for everything, including the back surgery I may have to have...I should find out tomorrow...

As far as buying the salvage back, they told me I dont have that option because I dont hold the title. Soooo...if it does get totalled, I have to find a NPI engine to swap in it, since the PI engine in it only has about 8k miles on it...also have to find some cheap stock wheels and tires as well, stock shifter, stock K-frame, control arms, springs, etc...Gawd, I have a weeks worth of pulling stuff off!!!

I will probably contact you about the buying it back. As far as changing stuff, my insurance adjuster is who gave me the idea to do it, so I don't know if anything would come about from it, but thanks for the advice. Now THEIR adjuster wants to come out and look at it...hopefully he'll be bringing me a rental as well.

You would only want that car totalled.......here is why.....CARFAX

once it is fixed.CARFAX will show a MAJOR accident has occured with this particular vehicle.
Any potential buyers in the future may not want or be willing to purchase a car with MAJOR accident damage....CARFAX lists major and minor accidents......

It also potential buyers may not be willing to pay full value of the car.
I would only hope you have it totalled.
