Nice.. Why don't you like the tremec? That is what I have in mine right? It is 5 speed. When I put it into the gears it seems like it is hitting a stop of some sort (metal to metal contact)

You probalby have the T-5 made by either Borg-Warner or Tremec, depending on the year of your car. Could also have a Tremec 3550 or a T-56, again depending on the year.

My car does the same thing with my stock T5. What I do is before I put the car in reverse I put it in like 2nd or 5th and then put it into reverse. For some reason it only does that with reverse. So before I go to reverse I go to a foward gear first and then to reverse and I have no grinding.

you are supposed to go to a foward gear before going into reverse to align up the reverse idler, if you dont it will hit the reverze idler, and stop (metal to metal contact), I rebuilt tons of the t5's at school for friends, i also have a G-Force prepped t-5 and it will do the same thing if i dont go into a forward gear first
