Well, I don't know what your combination is. What kind of ETs do you have now? I guess what I would consider, is, is this a street car or pure track car? Powerglides are great for improving traction and alot less violent at launch and going down the track. Powerglides when built right can can withstand a boatload more power. All of this is good if you are running 9 sec 1/4 ETs or better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a Powerglide would or wouldn't help you, I don't even know what your combo is.

Glide=no street car,C4's can stand 1000+hp and 8 sec quarter mile passes.

well with a 200 shot a glide will work good especially with small tires. I ran a glide and went 7's and needed it and then 9's in my other car and it was the most boring ride I had. Remember glides have a lousy first gear and you will need more rear gear or a looser converter. Hope it has a brake. Glides also work well in light cars under 3000 lbs. I think first is 178 and the other choice is 186 as you can see its not much of a first gear.

headers hard to tell, they have a big bell but small case so I think if your headers fit a c4 they should fit the glide.

go to 26's if u dont want to up the rear gear.i see alot of cars running glides.they are bullet proof when built right.

if you're hitting it with 200 out of the hole on a 28" and making decent power with the 408 you will be fine. My 85 had a 'glide in it built by Rob @ Fordspeed, converter stalled about 4000 (roughly) and I had a 3.90 gear and a 28" tire. Would cut 1.35 60' times all day long. We bumped the bottle and it cut 1.29 and was one hell of a ride (stock susp)..
enjoy..
(man do I miss my car..)
