ahh ok. What does the ball joint actually do? It is for my steering correct? Why would I need to remove my spring if it is for my steering?

I just lifted the car and seen if there was play in the wheels. There might of been about .005" of play but I wouldn't think it was anything to worry about.

the lower ball joint is just press fit. a 2lb sledge makes quick work of removal.

I do'nt wnat to sound like an idiot or anything but where do I look for the ball joint? Is it on the threaded rod that connects to the steering rack?

the threaded rod you're talking about is a inner tie rod. The outer tie rod screws on to that and goes in to the spindle to steer the car.

Ball joints: Mustangs only have lower ball joints, it is what comes up though the lower control arm in to the bottom of the spindle. hope this helps...

hmmmm ok... The tie rod goes on to a bolt with a castle nut with a cotter pin.

Is this the ball joint? Then I seen another one with some yellow grease hanging out on top which is higher than that one.
