It sounds like you need to re lash your valves. sounds like one is to tight

Could be timing 180 out if all else fails pull the distributor out make sure #1 cylinder is at tdc on the (compression) stroke.turn the motor over by hand with a ratchet or breaker bar until u feel air come out of the number 1 cylinder. that is the compression stroke then put the distributor back in with the rotor facing the number 1 plug wire.
